Standardized test preparation. Anything but standard.

We hold the controversial belief that test prep can and should teach real academic skills. Rather than emphasizing “beating the test,” we take a holistic approach: as students take practice tests and improve test-taking skills, they also learn what academic areas the test assesses and then build those skills, leading to success on the test—and in high school, college, and beyond, too.

Serious study for serious improvements. (But a little fun, too.)

We listen to and respect each student as an individual, and lessons will be engaging, unique, and adapted to each student's needs. In exchange, students are expected to dedicate serious time and energy to their studies. Our highest-scoring students have two tutoring sessions each week and spend between three and eight hours on homework.

Anna founded Mind the Test to empower students by teaching them how to learn, pairing test preparation and academic tutoring with lifelong research-based study skills.

After years of teaching test prep and English all around the world, she followed her passion for the science of learning to the University of Cambridge, where she researched how to improve educational equity via linguistic dialect-sensitivity on the SAT.

The explanations and lessons are very comprehensive, breaking everything down so that one can learn the most efficient methods for each type of question.
